A little bit of news (and apology) {Morgan}

So I'm sure the Fandom Family has noticed a lack of posting of late..
And for that we are deeply sorry. Trust me, we have legit excuses. Which I am sworn to secrecy..
Ok not really. Matt and I are spending a lot of our time working on an upcoming film- which we are acting in.
But that's all you're gonna get! ;)

Other than that, Fandom Fox has moved! Please go check out our new domain~ http://www.fandomfox.com
It still has some work that needs to be done, but by this time next week this blog will be closed and all content will only be posted from there from now on. We are very excited to start new adventures concerning this space in the future *wink *wink.

In other news, I dyed my hair purple! I made a little video/tutorial of it here.

Thanks so much Fandom Family for sticking around!

Guess the Quote Answers! [Matt]

It's been a week since I posted a second round of Guess the Quote!...Which means it's time to crown the new victor! Let words now cease, for they have lost their need. :)

The Quotes

This was hard. Choosing a victor. Because two of you answered ALMOST exactly the same. It was like watching Cedric Diggory and Harry Potter rush for the Triwizard Tournament Cup and having to decide who touched it first...it was like deciding who shot first...Greedo or Han Solo...it was like...
Long story short, the winners are...

                                                            In 3d place:  ALINA BLANCHARD!
Out of 7 quotes, you guessed 4 correctly!
Your prize: One free "Get out of Azkaban" ticket.

(Being a Slytherin, you'll want to use this one wisely ;) )

In 2nd place (a very, VERY close second place): LAURA YACKEL!

                                                                   Your prize: 5,000 Narnian Lions!

And in 1st place, by right of having the most solid, certain guesses...

                                                                         MYRIS STELMER!

Your prize: 10,000,000 Camp Half-Blood Drachmas!
Oh, and of course the Victory Haiku, as promised:

                                                                   --"You have won the prize!
                                                                       Victory for your fandoms
                                                                        Triumph now is yours."
Congratulations to all, and to all my sincere thanks for playing! :D

And thus it was...Guess the Quote, though eternally bound to return...was ended. And a new week of blogging began.

See y'all again very soon! :)

I've been tagged! {Morgan}

1. Thank the blogger[s] who nominated you, linking back to [their] blogs.

I was tagged by both Laura AND Alina. SO, thanks y'all, I feel extra special ;)

2. Put the Award logo on your blog.
--------> ;)

3. Answer the ten questions sent to you.
Okie dokie :D
4. Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer.
*Rubs hands together*
5. Nominate ten blogs.
Uhhhhhh.... I'll try.....?

I'll start with Laura's questions..

1. Have you ever been in a car accident?
Side note... whilst writing this, I realize how scary this actually was and how thankful I am that God had his eye on us...
2. Have you ever danced in the rain?
Not really sure.... I had a fascination with sitting in the rain when I was younger.
3. Do you trust anyone with your life?
Why yes, yes I do.
4. What is your perfect pizza?
Chicken Fiesta.. It has ( you guessed it) chicken, tomatoes and RANCH as the sauce *dreamy eyes*
5. If the TARDIS landed on your front step, where would you go first?
I'd go to New Mexico to work as a Harvey Girl. OR, I'd go join the suffragettes and fight for women's rights. Or travel on the Oregon Trail. Or serve as an army nurse during WWII.
6. What cheers you up when you're having a bad day?
Hugs, chocolate and fun.
7. (I know I shouldn't ask this one, but I'm evil) What is your favorite book? ;)
I have sooooo many!! But, I'd have to say, one of my all time favorites is Princess Academy by Shannon Hale. AND The Kings Daughter by.. Carolyn Meyer...?
8. What is your favorite, and least favorite, word in the English language?
Favorite: Free
Not Favorite: All the words I am constantly misspelling...
9. What is the weirdest thing about yourself?
I can flip my left hand all the way backwards where it touches my wrist. My arms are double jointed. I have an encyclopedia filled with irrational (IRRATIONAL, STUPID) fears. I wish was a mermaid. I hate okra. I hope there is a cat apocalypse. Need I go on?
10. If you could do anything anywhere, what would you do?
SO many things pop into my head, yet 'm drawn a blank... I would be a mermaid... or run through big cities saran wrapping cars.
and a bonus question: How do you pronounce Gif?
You would not BELIEVE the amount of debate I endure over this one. My family pronounces it like it looks.. GIF. Not Jif. It's my personal preference, whether it's right or not.

Okay, onto Alina's questions.

1. Marvel or DC?
Marvel definitely.
2. What is your favorite kind of flower?

Peonies! Preferably pink.3. What is your favorite girl name and what is your favorite guy name?
I have always liked girl names that start with J. Lately, I have been really liking the name Juliet for a possible girl name. For a boy? Fisher. Don't ask, just go with it. I've been adamant for three years that Fisher is a keeper.
4. If you could automatically know another language, which would it be?
That's a toughie. I would like to learn spanish, french and gaelic.
5. Do you generally prefer books or television?
I have always had a big fascination with television. Growing up, my siblings were glued to the computer (as much as we were allowed) but I was always glued to the TV. I love to read, but it has to be a good book. I sometimes find it hard to concentrate while reading. When I watch TV, I usually am working on several other projects at once. I'm one of those people who has to have constant motion.
6. Juice, tea, or coffee?
My GA roots say sweet tea for the win. I love coffee, but it gives me tummy ache.
 7. What would your dream job be?
A successful wedding photographer, restaurant owner, mother and farmer.
 8. What is the strangest thing you own?
Good question. I should look into this...
9. What is your favorite instrument (it doesn't matter if you have, or do, play it)?
Cello, violin and piano.
10. Which is better, white or brown chocolate?

Okay, so I can't tag ten other people, mainly because I don't know ten other bloggers- who haven't already been tagged.

SO, that being said, I will write my questions here, and if anyone would like to answer them, consider yourself tagged! And if you do tag yo-self, let me know in the comments below so I can read your answers! :)

  1. Have you ever been doubled dared?
  2. What is one job you would hate to have?
  3. Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings?
  4. Who is your favorite actress & actor?
  5. If you had one wish, what would it be?
  6. Were you raised on Veggie Tales? If so, which is your favorite?
  7. Do you like Blimey Cow? If so, which of their videos is your favorite?
  8. What book are you currently reading?
  9. What was the scariest moment of your life?
  10. What is one movie you will never watch again?

Alright y'all! Thanks so much for tagging me and for reading!

Princess Diaries 3 Announcement! {Morgan}

That's right folks! There is going to be a 3rd installment in the Princess Diaries franchise!
So far the only thing we know is that the same producer is coming back.

I remember when the first one came out. It was ALL THE RAGE!
I remember really liking that movie, and I went to theaters to see the second one.
Princess Mia always has reminded me of my older sister. Anne Hathaway even looks like her a bit.
Oddly enough, this was the first film I ever saw Anne Hathaway, and it is the ONLY film I like her in. Something about all her other roles annoy me greatly.

We have quoted this line a bajillion times in my life.
I always had a fascination with Princess Mia's shoes in the end scene. Something about the wet garden, the Christmas lights, the tulle, her gorgeous dress and her SHOES captivated me.
I have always felt like Mia was such a relatable character. It seems that I was always finding myself in awkward situations like Mia.

All the characters in this move are so funny and you just love all of them. Even the bad guy. Can we just take a moment to notice that's Mandy Moore!? I still sing "Stupid Cupid". Just so ya know.
I really like Josh. He's so funny! The beach scene where they're hiding in the boat house and Mia thinks he's offering her a foot massage but he's actually wanting her to give him one? Yeah. Classic
I think the beach scene was one of my top favorite scenes.
Lily was also a favorite character. I feel like she and I share some similar traits.

Joe is also a favorite. He is just the best.

And then in the second film, Mia meets a very handsome and romantic Chris Pine.
I liked her first love, but Nicholas was more husband material. I liked Andrew too! He just wasn't for her.
Gah. I love this couple. And that scene.

All in all, I think Gary Marshall did a spectacular job. I love his films.
What is your favorite part from the Princess Diaries series? What are your thoughts on a third installment?

My Top 3 Movie Musicals [Matt]

     Because why the heck not?
So, firstly I have to confess I'm not a big fan of musicals. Most of the time I can't stand watching two or more hours of...singing. But there are some exceptions--the good ones, as I like to call them. These, to me, are usually about half and half music and script. The bad ones, to me, are the ones that are practically 100% music that isn't even that good. For instance, Disney's 'Into the Woods'. I'm sorry, I wanted to facepalm myself with a rock repeatedly.
But this post is about the 3 musicals I really like, out of the many I've seen (I have four sisters, two of which have both gone through intense musical-watching phases growing up--so I have some experience with musicals, including the 'oldy-goldies'). and those three are:

3: 1776

This one didn't get very good reviews...but I think it's great. I mean, one or two of the songs weren't my favorite, but most of them I liked, especially 'Sit Down, John', 'Piddle, Twiddle and Resolve', 'The Lees of Old Virginia', 'Cool, Cool, Considerate Men', 'Momma Look Sharp', and 'But, Mr. Adams'.
The highlight of the movie for me was John Adams, and/or the actor's performance. He so pulled off the total exasperation with Congress and the '100% done' expression in practically every scene.

Adams and his interaction with Congress is just hilarious. Here's Adams, the only guy who's taking American Independence seriously, and then there's Congress, the Piddling, Twiddling crew who can't Resolve one thing.

...And they think Adams is a silly blockhead!

So most of the time Adams and his buddy, Ben Franklin, just sit there like this, preparing their sermons for Independence:

The movie is hilarious, clever, witty, lots of dry and sarcastic humor...a good bit of obnoxious silliness...so, yeah, my kind of musical.

2: Fiddler on the Roof

This one is also a musical with humor and wit. It explores some interesting themes and makes you think about what you're watching, which is a big plus. The script is flawless and the performances spot-on, especially Reb Tevye's and Golde's, who, by the way, are in my opinion the spotlight of the film.
At the end of the day, though, it's Tevye who steals the glory. Watching him converse back and forth with God, interact with his family, friends and enemies, and struggle with tradition vs. relationship are the best parts about the movie, to me.
And, of course, the music is fun, otherwise this movie wouldn't be in this list. My personal favorites in the film are 'If I were a Rich Man', 'Do You Love Me?' and 'Anatevka'.
Oh, and I can't leave out that awesome Reb Tevye-style dancing--I mean, look at him go!

1: Prince of Egypt

I'll start by saying I just don't like Biblical movie adaptations. I feel like no one ever makes them right--they either weird-ify them, or try too hard, or shove their own sermons/interpretations into the story, giving you that nice, bitter aftertaste of...religious legalism.
But this movie did it right. It's the only one of it's kind, in my opinion. Yes, it's a musical version. Yes, it's an adaptation on the original story and creative liberties were taken. But the spirit of the original story was still very well-communicated--better than any other Biblical/Christian movie I've seen. The heart of the story remains the same: God hears the cry of His people and fulfills His promise to lead them from slavery to freedom. The End. Happy story. No Religious additives needed.
Those personal opinions aside, though, we can all agree the movie has an amazing soundtrack. The cinematography of the film alone is enough to bring tears to your eyes--but add the music in and you've got instant FEELS. Chills down the spine, teary eyes, the works. Good stuff. My personal favorite tracks from the film are 'Deliver Us' 'All I ever Wanted', 'Through Heaven's Eyes', 'The Burning Bush', 'The Plagues', 'Playing with the Big Boys', 'When you Believe' and of course the iconic 'River Lullaby'.
And while I'm at it, here are a few of the film highlights in gifs. :D

The artistry! The story! The music! The FEELS!
 ...Sorry, I can't help it--it's so beautiful! :)

So what are your favorite musicals and why? Feel free as always to tell me about it in the comments box below! Have a great day! :D
