10 Film Favorites Of Mine [Matt]

I thought I'd start off posting with a few of my personal favorite things about some of the movies and TV shows I've seen. I could go on forever coming up with favorite things in a million categories, but for now I'll just stick with 10. ;)

1: Favorite Heartwarming Scene: Silver's Talk with Jim; Treasure Planet.

I first saw this movie when I was six, but even now, twelve years later, this scene sticks with me. I always related with Jim and have teared up more than once watching this scene because of how encouraging Silver's speech is--it's a touching reminder that we all have the makings of greatness in us.

2: Favorite Face-acting in a Movie: Jennifer Lawrence; Catching Fire.

The gif doesn't do it justice. This is by far the best face-acting I've ever seen. Not only did Jennifer Lawrence have to visibly show every emotion and thought racing through Katniss's head, but she had to look at the camera while doing it. Speaking from mild acting experience, I wouldn't have been able to keep a straight face, much less clearly show my role's emotions.

3: Favorite World-building in a TV show: Avatar Wan's story; Avatar: The Legend of Korra , Book 2.

Not only was it a treat to get to know the character of Wan, but it was awesome finally getting to learn the origin of Bending and of the Avatars, of which Wan was the first. Or should I say, Number Wan... ha. Ha. Ha. *sigh....Sorry....

4: Favorite Unique Character Movement Idea: 3DMG; Attack on Titan.

I personally love when movies/tv shows/video games show new and interesting ways for the characters to move and fight. The Parkour elements in Titanfall, The Bending in both Avatar series, and, as shown here, the 3DMG in Attack on Titan. Unique movement/fighting techniques just add a whole other layer of coolness.

5: Favorite Animation in a Film: Elinor and Merida playing in the river; Brave.

This. Scene. Not only was it a great emotional scene, it was just beautifully done all around. Maybe it's just me. Maybe It's just because I LOVE  forests, trees and rivers/creeks--but this scene's animation really connected with me--it felt so real and fun--it reminded me of the many spring-summer-early fall days I've spent playing in the river growing up.

6: Favorite Pleasantly Unexpected Scene: Harry and Hermione Dancing; Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1.

'Kay, so maybe I am a bit of a 'Harmony' shipper--I admit it. I never really liked Hermione with Ron--mainly because I just don't like Ron. I get that J.K. Rowling was trying to avoid the 'coolest girl gets the coolest guy' trope---but to be honest, in both the books and the movies I thought Ron was a bit of a jerk. All that aside, I can respect this scene from both canonical view and shipper view. It was just such a great scene for its unexpectedness. It gave warmth and light to an otherwise quite dark and eery (probably THE most dark and eery) installment in the series.

     And speaking of dancing...

7: Favorite Family Moment in a Film: Stoick and Valka Dancing; How To Train Your Dragon 2.

This one goes without explanation. Everyone loves this scene. EVERYONE. Even if you hate HTTYD (which is a ludicrous idea), you love this scene. Trust me. You do.

8: Favorite Fictional Sports: Kohlii, Pro-Bending and Quidditch (Bionicle; Avatar: The Legend of Korra; Harry Potter).

I've never been big on sports--but if these sports existed, I would definitely buy tickets and bet on players.

9: Favorite Internal Battle Scene: Voldemort's possession of Harry; Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

"You're the weak one...and you'll never know love...or friendship...and I feel sorry for you." Definitely the best movie scene that wasn't technically in the book.

10: Favorite Movie Speech: Sam's Speech to Frodo; The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers.

"It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it's only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it'll shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something. Even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back only they didn't. They kept going. Because they were holding onto something."
"What are we holding onto, Sam?"
"That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo. And it's worth fighting for."

^^That was all from memory. Happens after being raised on this amazing trilogy.^^

And it's with that inspiring takeaway that I conclude this post. But before I leave, what are some of your favorite moments from books, movies, TV shows, video games, etc.? Be sure to comment and let us know!

Have a great day! :D

What can you expect here at Fandom Fox?

Matt and I want to post pretty much anything and everything related to our Fandoms!
We're looking forward to participating in and creating our own tags and games.

I've played a really fun game on other fandom blogs called "The Screncap game".
The way you play is, we will post  a section of a screen cap, and you must guess which movie it belongs to.

Will you post weekly?
Hopefully more than that! We'd like to have set posting days on Mondays and Fridays.
Monday music playlists, and Friday Favorites.

Will you ONLY post stuff related to your fandoms?
Pretty much. However, at the end of each month, Matt and I will post about the books we read, movies we watch and music we listen to during the month.

So! Without further ado, let the fandomness begin!
What is YOUR favorite fandom & why?
